The presence of a yacht requires a lot of money for maintenance, as well as for equipping it with all the necessary amenities. This makes buying a yacht a pipe dream for most people.

Owners of yachts are usually very rich, therefore such property is considered a sign of luxury and belonging to the powers that be. If you do not believe, take a look at the ten most expensive yachts in the world with their prices and photos.

10. Octopus - $ 200 million

Opens our list of the most expensive yachts ship owned by Paul Allen - one of the smartest men in the world. It is called the Octopus and is controlled by a team of 40 people. Some of them are rumored to be former "fur seals."

This yacht is more like a robot from the 80s. It has seven small boats, two helicopters, and even a submarine for 10 people, which allows you to comfortably explore the depths of the ocean.

9. Seven Seas - $ 200 million

The yacht, commissioned by Stephen Spielberg, has seven apartments, which can also be doubled as cabins. On board it can be up to 12 guests, at the services of which the standard "set of a millionaire": a cinema, a swimming pool, a gym and a helipad. Because every self-respecting yacht should be equal in value to the GDP of a third world country, isn’t it?

8. Lady Moura - $ 210 million

This is a private yacht owned by Nasser Al Rashid, a multi-billionaire from Saudi Arabia. Its name and a number of other details are made using pure gold.

The superyacht is managed by a team of 60 people, and a pool with a retractable roof and an artificial beach are provided for the entertainment of guests.

7. Al Mirqab - $ 250 million

The Floating Palace, launched in 2008, is owned by the former Prime Minister of Qatar. The vessel consists of 10 bedrooms, a traditional for super-expensive yachts helipad, an equally traditional pool and VIP-apartments section, in addition to two personal apartments of the owner. The architect of the yacht was Tim Heywood, who worked on the yachts of many Russian billionaires - from Roman Abramovich to Suleiman Kerimov and Alisher Usmanov.

6. Dilbar - $ 263 million

The yacht designed by Tim Heywood belongs to the businessman from the Russian Federation Alisher Usmanov. It is named after the mother of the owner. This is the first yacht equipped with particle filters for the exhausts of the main engine. The yacht also has a helipad and enough space to accommodate a crew of 47 people and 20 guests.

5. Al Said - $ 300 million

The construction of this luxury ship was started in 2007 and was completed in 2008. The yacht was formerly known as Project Sunflower and was later renamed owner as it belongs to Sultan Qaboos Ben Saeed Al Saeed Oman from Oman. Al Said accommodates a crew of 154 in addition to 70 guests.

4. Dubai - $ 350 million

The leader of Dubai needs an extravagant ship to travel. The floating tower of Sheikh Rashid Ibn Mohammed Al Maktoum provides places for 115 visitors, six luxury apartments and five VIP apartments - all with open galleries. There was also enough space on the yacht for a SPA salon, a huge pool with hand trim, a squash court, and of course, a helipad that can hold a helicopter weighing up to 9.5 tons. It is worth mentioning the chic glass staircase, the steps of which change color.

3. Eclipse - from $ 450 million to $ 1.2 billion

This chic motor yacht, owned by the ex-governor of Chukotka Roman Abramovich, has a length of 162.5 meters and was built by the German shipbuilding company Blohm + Voss. The exact price of the floating gemstone is unknown, and Eclipse estimates are based on extravagant features of the ship. They include: two helipads, a submarine, 24 guest cabins, two swimming pools, hot tubs and a disco room.

What makes this yacht special is its safety system. It includes: missile defense, an intrusion detection system, and even a paparazzi laser system that prevents illegal shooting by “flashing” the camera lens. To maintain the normal functioning of the ship requires a crew of 70 people.

2. Sailing Yacht A - $ 500 million

Another yacht owned by the Russian billionaire - in this case, Andrey Melnichenko. The Sailing Yacht A project was brought to life by Philippe Starck, and its interior and exterior designs are unique. There are not one, but three pools at once, the placement of two additional boats and many entertainment systems. To reduce the weight of the hull and superstructure of the yacht, some elements are made of carbon fiber.

The eight-deck yacht is large enough to accommodate a crew of 54 people and 14 guests.

1. Streets of Monaco - $ 1 billion

As the name implies, this floating extravagance project was designed to "replicate" Monaco or, to be more precise, Monte Carlo. Its price is so high due to its unconventional design, which presents small copies of Monaco’s famous sights, such as the Monte Carlo casino, Hotel de Paris, etc. In addition, in the “floating city” there was a place for swimming pools, tennis courts, a cafe-bar with underwater views, a mini waterfall, helipad and submarine. The central element of the ship is the Atrium deck, on which there are seven guest apartments, as well as the owner's penthouse.

All this magnificence can move at a speed of up to 15 knots, and about 70 crew members serve it.

The most expensive yacht is fake

In many publications, the title of the most expensive yacht of all time is the Baia 100 Supreme from the History Supreme series. Its cost is estimated at 4.8 billion dollars. Decorated with ten tons of pure gold and platinum, the yacht supposedly belongs to the richest man in Malaysia, Robert Quoc, and was performed by the famous British designer Stuart Hughes. The most extravagant aspect of a luxury ship is its master bedroom, which has a wall made of meteorite and a statue of real bones Tyrannosaurus Rex.

However, in 2011, LibyMax journalists were not too lazy to contact the Italian shipbuilder Baia Yachts, and found out that the golden superyacht is nothing more than the invention of Stuart Hughes, who took some photos from Baia Yachts without the permission of the copyright holder. However, the shipbuilder did not want to sue the designer-deceiver, because he found this story so stupid that it is not worth prosecution.
